Stollery success story

Young woman's hospital history reflects on an adolescence that almost never was. When Jillian Pineau looks back at the beginning of her life growing up in Fort McMurray, what stands out most in her mind is her family.


Stephie's ride

A rare autoimmune disease proves no match for a philanthropic Alberta pre-teen, her family and their close-knit community. You could say Stephie's rare autoimmune disease sneaked up on the Gagnon family. Stephie was six-and-a-half years old when her mom, Sheila, and dad, Richard, started noticing that she was more tired than usual.


Pediatric pet project

It’s no secret that pets can be the right medicine when a family member is unwell. That’s the thinking behind a new pet therapy program at the Stollery Children’s Hospital that treated 68 patients in its first two months.


Improving outcomes

The Stollery is taking its place as a pediatric treatment leader, thanks to an integration of research and clinical care. A new program called Clinical Research Capacity Building supports studies that show patients in research-intensive hospitals have better outcomes.

    When Sydney Woodworth was in kindergarten, one of her classmates died from leukemia. Heartbroken, Sydney and her sister, Taylor, decided to give back to the Stollery and help other kids. In Moses' memory, the girls and friends will be at Sobey's in Namao Centre selling lemonade and other tasty treats.  Read More>>
