Celebration Weekend

Celebration Weekend is exactly that…a celebration! It’s a very special weekend where we highlight the achievements of the Stollery Children's Hospital, and our Foundation donors and sponsors, over the last year. We see the community showing support… we see doctors and staff revealing what goes on behind the scenes…and we see sponsors showing how much they care. The weekend features an one-hour broadcast on CTV, Wear Your Bear Day and a special eight-page insert recognizing our donors in The Edmonton Sun.

The Celebration Broadcast on CFRN features stories of children and families whose lives have been impacted by the hospital. Broadcast live from the hospital, it’s a key donor recognition event where organizations and individuals come to show their support on the air.

On Wear Your Bear Day, Edmontonians show their support of the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation by sporting this year’s line of Wear Your Bear clothing.

The annual Pajama Party for hospitalized children takes place in the hospital during the Celebration Weekend. This special beach party allows children to take part in the activities, and enjoy fun and entertainment. Stollery Children’s Hospital Child Life staff lead the event, ensuring fun for everyone.

Celebration 2007

On June 2nd, join Carrie Doll, Daryl McIntryre and Josh Classen for a special one-hour broadcast on CTV. Celebration Broadcast 2007, airing between 7:00 - 8:00 pm, features inspiring stories of Stollery Children's Hospital patients and staff, recognition of our Children's Miracle Network national sponsors, and highlighting other amazing accomplishments over the last year.

Leading up to the event, on June 1st, is Wear Your Bear Day - a special opportunity for Edmontonians to show their support of the Stollery Children's Hospital by sporting the latest line of Wear Your Bear clothing. To find out more information on Wear Your Bear, click here.

Finally, readers of The Edmonton Sun will recieve a special eight-page insert with their paper, recognizing our many partners, sponsors, and contributors over the last year. This insert includes patient family stories, a celebration of our top 25 donors, recognition of our national sponsors, broadcast partners and donors.

Celebration 2006

On June 3, the 2006 Children's Miracle Network Celebration Weekend Broadcast, presented by allRewards, aired on CTV Edmonton as a three-hour celebration of miracles. The Stollery Children's Hospital Foundation recognized over $4.4 million raised in support of Edmonton's world-class children's hospital.

CTV Edmonton's Carrie Doll, Daryl McIntyre and Josh Classen hosted the event from the lobby of the Stollery Children's Hospital, as well as The Beach. The broadcast featured stories that showcased some of the special services and talented staff that make the Stollery a leading children's hospital. Bronze sponsor, CIBC, was on hand to present a cheque and help celebrate miracles.
