Pomeroy Lodging currently owns 18 hotels in the northern areas of Alberta and B.C. The portfolio has boasted over 35 hotels, 25 restaurants and five other businesses. His company has been the recipient of several prestigious awards in the industry, including Top 50 Best Employers in Canada and the Pinnacle Award for Regional Hotel Company of the Year, via Hotelier magazine in 2013. Ryan was also nominated and selected as a Prairies finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award.
Since being appointed president, Ryan has been instrumental in closing several deals that have strategically positioned the company for success, including a management buyout capital restructuring, as well as large portfolio sales and acquisitions that included the Delta Lodge at Kananaskis, which was acquired in September of 2015.
Having recognized the need for an extended stay hotel product in the market, the first Pomeroy Inn & Suites opened in Grande Prairie in 2004, and since then the growth has been tremendous. Today, there are nine Pomeroy branded hotels baring the family name, with plans for expansion.
