Ryland brings a smile to everyone he meets! Thanks to the expert care he continues to receive at the Stollery Children’s Hospital, Ryland will continue spreading joy to all.
At just five-weeks-old, Ryland’s pediatrician sent him to the Stollery, where he had his first brain surgery. Ryland was diagnosed with a blockage in his brain and depends on a shunt to stay alive. Over his first two years of life, Ryland’s shunt kept failing, sending him to the emergency room countless times. Today, Ryland takes medication to control his seizures caused from scar tissue damage, and he’s followed closely by his team at the Stollery. Ryland is always happy to visit his friends at the Hospital and his family is grateful to have the Stollery right in their own backyard.
