Garrett and Carter are a dynamic duo with energy for days! Thanks to the world-class care they received at the Stollery Children’s Hospital, these two show no signs of slowing down.
Garrett and Carter’s Stollery story started in the womb. An early ultrasound showed Carter was significantly smaller than Garrett. The twins had multiple weekly ultrasounds including one from the Stollery’s cardiac team. At 32 weeks, Garrett and Carter came into the world with no major complications but spent some time in the neonatal intensive care unit. While Garrett was doing well after 45 days, Carter needed a little extra care and stayed for 55 days, also needing two hernia repairs. Carter was also treated for giant cell hepatitis by the Stollery GI team until he was two.
