Rylie is a kind, energetic six-year-old girl who loves to play with her brother and sister – all thanks to the expert care she received at the Stollery Children’s Hospital.
Rylie’s mom was sent for a prenatal ultrasound when she started measuring small. The ultrasound showed Rylie had a heart defect and the placenta was no longer working properly. Rylie was delivered via an emergency C-section, but things didn’t look good for the newborn. After spending three months in the NICU and having two open-heart surgeries, Rylie is now getting stronger and healthier every day!
