Support the Stollery with a do-it-yourself, virtual foodie fundraiser

Our Extra Helpings program was originally designed as a foodie FUNdraiser for small gatherings such as dinner parties or a BBQ with friends and family. In this time of COVID-19 and physical distancing, as we do virtual hangouts and game nights with those we love, we hope you'll include a fundraising aspect to your gathering. You could host a virtual dinner party, games night or other gathering with friends or family using video communication tools such as Skype, Houseparty or Zoom. It's easy to do, and we're here to help!

Hosting a virtual Extra Helpings event is a wonderful way to stay connected while supporting the Hospital. The money you raise will go to the Stollery Action Fund for the Hospital’s highest priority needs, including specialized equipment, programs, research and training during the coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis.

HOW TO GET STARTED

Step 1:

Decide what type of virtual foodie fundraiser you want to cook up. Start thinking about who you’d like to add to your virtual invitation list and what you plan to have on the menu!

Step 2:

Complete our online registration form.

Step 3:

Wait for us to register your virtual fundraiser – you’ll hear from us within two business days. While we can't help out in the kitchen, we'll email you a hosting kit once you’re registered with all the special ingredients you'll need to make your virtual event a sweet success:

  • Digital invitations
  • Place cards your guests can print out at home
  • Online fundraising page that shares details about your virtual foodie fundraiser, lets guests donate online and tracks your fundraising goal
  • Stollery stats and stories so guests can learn about how their donations make a life-changing difference for kids, families and Hospital staff by supporting specialized physical and mental health programs, training, equipment and research at the Stollery Children’s Hospital and in backyards across Alberta.

Step 4:

Share great food, stories and laughter with your virtual guests – while supporting a sweet cause. After your virtual event and once COVID-19 physical distancing restrictions are lifted, we’d love to meet with you to personally thank you and collect your donation as part of a cheque presentation. All donations of $25 or more qualify for a tax receipt.
