Donor feature: A sweet legacy of giving
What began as a single lemonade stand has now become a citywide movement. Join thousands of kids and families raising millions to support Stollery kids through Lemonade Stand Day!
Lemonade Stand Day started in 2014 with a simple act of kindness — Monita Chapman’s daughters, Brooklyn and Daniella, raised $76 for the Stollery from their first lemonade stand. With Monita’s inspiring leadership, that humble beginning has blossomed into a beloved citywide tradition.
Over the past 11 years, nearly 10,000 Junior Lemon Squeezers have taken part, raising an astounding $2.5 million for Stollery kids. These funds have supported critical hospital programs, life-saving equipment and the creation of family-friendly spaces like the newly renovated Simply Supper Lemon Love family rooms at the Walter C. Mackenzie and Royal Alexandra Hospital Stollery sites. Now entering its 12th year, Lemonade Stand Day is more than a fundraiser—it’s a celebration of community, compassion and childhood joy.
