The Patient and Family-Centered Care program at the Stollery Children’s Hospital has many different programs, initiatives and designated family spaces to support and care for Stollery kids and families during their Hospital stay. One of the many programs includes Giving Comfort.

The Stollery Women’s Network launched the Giving Comfort program in 2017 with the goal of bringing comfort to families who unexpectedly find themselves at the Hospital. Now managed by the Patient and Family-Centered Care team, this program offers essential items to families during their Hospital stay, including toiletries, activity books, clothing and other items such as phone chargers and headphones.

Last year, the Giving Comfort program supported Stollery families through providing:

  • 2,568 toiletry kits
  • 4,138 colouring books
  • 2,899 electronics
  • 1,362 T-shirts

Patient and Family-Centered Care programs like these provide comfort and relief in times of uncertainty and overwhelming stress. Thanks to your generous support, we can continue to be there for Stollery kids and their families in times when they need it the most.
