Meet Daxton
Daxton is a goofy boy who keeps his family on their toes. He loves volcanoes, creating with LEGO® and blocks, and chasing his four sisters around. Born with chronic kidney disease, Daxton spends three afternoons a week receiving Stollery care so that he can keep bringing smiles to the faces of everyone he meets.

Daxton was born with chronic kidney disease and by the time he was two and a half years old, he was referred to get a transplant by his Stollery team. His first transplant came from his dad. Unfortunately, the kidney had to be removed after continuous issues following the transplant. Daxton was stable for another year before he needed to start dialysis, and being on dialysis meant that he went back to the top of the donor list. He received a second kidney right away, but this kidney also didn’t take and had to be removed.
When Daxton weighs at least 30 kilograms, his Stollery team will explore whether he has the appropriate anatomy to be able to receive another kidney transplant. For now, Daxton currently visits his Stollerific team three times a week to receive dialysis treatments for four hours at a time. Thanks to the world-class care at the Stollery, Daxton is running, playing and doing what he does best – being a kid.
