The Stollery Diabetes Education Centre team, which consists of endocrinologists, registered nurses, social workers and registered dietitians, is involved with ongoing diabetes research and uses state-of-the-art technology in the field of endocrinology. They provide assessment, treatment, education and follow-up care for children with diabetes. They also offer help with insulin adjustments and changes to therapy, education for schools through the teacher's workshop, education for alternate caregivers through the caregiver's workshop and insulin pump therapy in co-operation with the Alberta Provincial Insulin Pump Program.
The Stollery Diabetes Education Centre is located in unit 1C4 and is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday. Emergency support is available 24/7 over the phone for diabetes-related emergencies.
