Albertans have the chance trade in their snow shovels for sandy beaches in support of Stollery kids

 EDMONTON — Today the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation officially launched its 10th Mighty Millions Lottery! This spring’s program is headlined by a $2.7 million-dollar Grand Prize, featuring a stunning showhome custom-built by Birkholz Homes, a 2023 Maserati Grecale GT and $100,000 cash. 

With net proceeds from this spring’s lottery projected to exceed $2 million, ticket purchasers will help to advance physical and mental health care for kids from backyards across Alberta through the purchase of highly specialized pediatric equipment and by funding cutting-edge pediatric research. Ticket purchasers help make sure kids and teens from backyards across Alberta and beyond have access to some of the most urgent physical and mental health care services anywhere in the world. 

“The Stollery Children’s Hospital is the hub for pediatric heart surgery in Western Canada, with 37 per cent of Stollery kids coming from outside the Edmonton area,” says Mike House, President and CEO of the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation. “As a national leader in cardiac care, the Stollery Children’s Hospital recently became the first hospital in Canada to join the Fontan Outcomes Network, an international learning health network that transforms research into practice to improve outcomes for kids with single ventricle heart defects.” House adds advancements in pediatric care like the Fontan Outcomes Network would not be possible without the investment in research through programs such as the Mighty Millions Lottery. 

The $2.7 million grand prize offers an incredible Birkholz-built showhome. This beautiful 5,000-square-foot home is in the upscale community of Westpointe of Windermere. Designed for flexible family living, it features a spacious kitchen, a lower-level family zone and outdoor living spaces for year-round gatherings.
