Donor feature: Kids helping kids

Sophia Nagy is a proud Stollery Superstar supporting kids like her at the Stollery Children’s Hospital.

She shared with us in her words why she’s inspired to fundraise for kids who need Stollery care:

“I know that when kids are sick or need care, it can be really hard, and I wanted to do something to make a difference for them.

Each year, I set a fundraising goal for myself and see if any friends want to help. To raise money, I sell handmade loom bracelets, lemonade and snacks. You can usually find me set up at outdoor markets in Devon and at the Devon Dog Park. I also make my own handmade posters to attract people and share my cause, which makes it even more fun and creative.

The Stollery helps so many families, and it’s important to me to support the kids who need it. Every bracelet I make and every cup of lemonade I sell brings me one step closer to helping someone feel better.

This is my fifth year of hosting my fundraiser, and I have raised more than $2,200 to help kids in need. Thank you to everyone who supports me!”

We’re so grateful for Stollery Superstars like Sophia who dedicate their time and talents to supporting Stollery kids like them.
