Meet the Match: Wolfe Pack Warriors Foundation
Today is day five of Meet the Match, and we want to introduce you to today’s sponsor, Wolfe Pack Warriors Foundation!
Wolfe Pack Warriors Foundation and the Wolfe family have been supporting the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation for several years, even before they started their Foundation – ever since Harrison and Kristy’s son, Kane, received heart surgery at the Stollery.
Wolfe Pack Warriors Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the Wolfe Automotive Group. They have three main pillars: kids and their families, access to the outdoors and athletics, and women’s education and leadership.
We asked why it’s important to their organization to support the Foundation and Stollery Children’s Hospital:
There are so many reasons! The one we would like to focus on has to do with the cardiology programs and very specifically the Western Canadian Children’s Heart Network (WCCHN) that supports kids and families like ours, living with congenital heart defects (CHD).
— Kristy Wolfe, Stollery mom and Executive Director of Wolfe Pack Warriors Foundation
We connected with Kristy, Executive Director, who shared more about Kane’s Stollery story:
We have a long history with the Stollery. We knew before Kane was even born that he had cardiac issues, and then he also arrived eight weeks early. We spent 54 days at the Stollery Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the Royal Alexandra Hospital. He didn’t require heart surgery right away, but he was also diagnosed with congenital scoliosis. So, after being released from the Hospital, we had cardiology and scoliosis follow-ups, as well as physical therapy – so we spent a fair bit of time at the Stollery.
At the age of one, Kane required open-heart surgery for a different congenital issue that his cardiac team found, so we spent Christmas in the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit. We were back at the Stollery for Christmas a year later when his brother, Maverick, was in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit with RSV at six weeks old.
Kane has since had a second open-heart surgery and continues to receive cardiac care at the Alberta Children’s Hospital, another partner site within the Western Canadian Children’s Heart Network. We know that Kane will be back up to the Stollery for surgical intervention before he transitions out of pediatric care.
I think what’s really interesting — and I didn’t understand early on — was just how lucky we were to be in Edmonton when all of this went down. I didn’t realize the Stollery was actually the place to be for a cardiac kid, which I think is why it’s important to highlight the Western Canadian Children’s Heart Network, because they have parent and family resources for what to expect when you’re going to the Hospital for CHD and how to live with it.
What has been the most impactful part about supporting the Stollery?
It has ripples you won’t even realize. Putting our family’s story out there, even though sometimes it can be hard or uncomfortable, it shows other people the differences you can make and the impact you can have. Even to share with the Hospital staff and physicians the differences that are being made outside their walls, to bring them back to ‘why’ they do what they do.
What would you say to someone who is considering supporting the Foundation?
I would say just do it. The Foundation goes above and beyond to support kids and their families and so making a contribution – whether that’s financial or volunteer time – you won’t always see the impact, but it ripples across so many families.
Thank you, Wolfe Pack Warriors Foundation, for being a sponsor for this year’s Meet the Match and all you do for Stollery kids!
On December 4, 2025, Wolfe Pack Warriors Foundation is matching donations up to a total of $10,000.
