Appreciating our supporters on National Philanthropy Day

Nominees for National Philanthropy Day acknowledges and honours the outstanding achievements of individuals, foundations, corporations, fundraising volunteers and non-profit organizations who contribute their time, talents, financial support and other resources to our community — and beyond.

This year we’re excited to be celebrating the following members from the Stollery community:

COBS Bread (various locations)

COBS Bread proves that small, community-driven acts of generosity can lead to major impact. For more than five years, six independently owned COBS locations across Edmonton have come together to supportStollery kids through Dough-Nation Day and other fundraising initiatives.

Together, they’ve raisedmore than $53,000 in support of children’s health care — helping fund research, equipment and family supports at the Stollery.

Their commitment goes beyond the dollars raised. They donate fresh baking to Teddy Bear Fun Fest, offer discounts for Hospital staff appreciation efforts and continue to be generous community partners to the Foundation.

John Carter & Shane Parent RE/MAX River City

Since 2008, John Carter and Shane Parent, brokers and owners of RE/MAX River City, have supported the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation through the Miracle Home and Commercial Program. Their commitment to the Foundation has helped raise more than $2million for Stollery kids.

We’re proud to recognize RE/MAX River City’s dedication to families across Alberta.

Norma Gordon

The Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation is honoured to recognize Norma Gordon for her long-term generosity and support for our Stollery kids and their families. Norma’s incredible financial support can be seen throughout every pillar at the Stollery. Rarely does an event pass without Norma in attendance — she is always there, lending her encouragement and support. Norma played a key role in launching our annual golf invitational, Tee Up for Tots, and has been an attendee since its inception 25 years ago.

Through her kindness and generosity, Norma has touched many lives, embodying the very spirit of philanthropy and leaving a lasting mark on our community.

Brady and Cameron Miller

Brady and Cameron have been supporting the Foundation since 2014, shortly after Cameron’s birth. To acknowledge the world-class care Cameron received, the brothers have been raising money each year through birthday parties and hosting lemonade stands. They’ve raised more than $13,000 to help support many initiatives that make a life-changing difference for Stollery kids.

Cameron and his family are also part of the Stollery Story Squad, a program that gives families the opportunity to share their story to raise awareness and inspire others to give.

The Foundation is proud to recognize the impact and ongoing efforts of Stollery Superstar brothers, Brady and Cameron.

David Tuff – Art for Heart

David Tuff, community organizer for Art for Heart, has a personal connection to the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation, which inspired him to give back to help other Stollery families.

What began as a single-day event in 2017 has now become a two-week-long event with many unique fundraising components. Raising more than $85,000, David’s incredible fundraising efforts throughout the past eight years continue to have a tremendous impact on Stollery kids and their families – helping fund urgent needs and critical research, training, programs and equipment at the Hospital.

The Foundation is truly thankful for David’s outstanding commitment to advancing children’s health care.

Nominees for National Philanthropy Day were recognized at an awards reception hosted by the Association of Fundraising Professionals Edmonton & Area Chapter on November 14, 2025.

Congratulations to the nominees and thank you for your incredible contributions to our community. Your generosity and passion are making a difference for Stollery kids in backyards in Alberta and beyond.
