Swinging back into action for Stollery kids
Despite a wildfire evacuation in their community of Swan Hills earlier this year, the team at Aspenleaf Energy Ltd. still found a way to support Stollery kids.
Earlier this year, the community of Swan Hills faced a challenge that would test anyone’s resilience — a full evacuation due to nearby wildfires. Among those affected was Aspenleaf Energy Ltd., whose team suddenly found themselves away from home and work, navigating uncertainty and upheaval. But if there’s one thing Aspenleaf knows well, it’s how to rally. This summer, despite the disruption and stress of the evacuation, the company forged ahead with its second annual golf tournament on August 26, 2025 in support of the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation.
For Aspenleaf, this isn’t just a golf game — it’s a tradition, a point of pride and a way to give back to children and families who rely on the Stollery’s world-class care. Each year, the tournament brings together colleagues, friends and community members for a day of fun, camaraderie and generosity, with all proceeds helping sick and injured kids get the best chance to live a long and healthy life.
“We’re incredibly grateful for Aspenleaf’s dedication, especially given what they’ve been through this year,” says Caitlin Fleming, Senior Development Officer for the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation. “Their commitment to Stollery kids, even in the face of personal and professional challenges, speaks volumes about their heart and their values.”
We know that the road back from a community evacuation isn’t easy — but Aspenleaf’s decision to move forward with the tournament shows the power of perseverance and the impact of putting kids first.
To the Aspenleaf team: thank you for showing that even when the unexpected happens, generosity can still shine bright.
