A new home for the Stollery
A new stand-alone Stollery is coming.
Join us in making it a reality.
Alberta is getting a new, purpose-built Stollery Children’s Hospital — designed for kids and families, built for the future, and made possible through the collective support of our community.
Through Stollery No Bounds, our once-in-a-generation, $1 billion comprehensive campaign, we’re helping bring the new stand-alone Stollery to life while continuing to support excellence at the existing hospital today.

ShowWhere are we today?
The Stollery is one of the most specialized children’s hospitals in Canada. Kids from across four provinces and three territories rely on its world-class care — from broken bones to organ transplants and rare diseases.
But the Hospital was never built for kids. It’s woven through an adult facility, with:
-
No room to grow
Population growth and increasing demand mean the Stollery cannot expand within its current footprint. -
Limited privacy
Two-thirds of beds are in shared spaces, separated only by curtains — making care even more difficult during stressful moments. -
Outdated clinical spaces
Many operating rooms and treatment areas were built decades ago and no longer support modern pediatric technology. -
No child-first design
There’s little space to support the emotional, sensory or therapeutic needs of children and families.
Where are we going?
A new, stand-alone Stollery Children’s Hospital will transform what’s possible for kids and families by offering:
-
Integrated care under one roof
Medical teams, mental health supports, virtual care, research, training and innovation brought together to improve outcomes. -
Privacy and dignity
Single-patient rooms that give children and families space to heal and to be together. -
Reduced wait times
More space and more beds mean more timely care for families across Alberta. -
Support for parents and caregivers
Family-centred spaces, care-by-parent rooms and supportive amenities. - Modern facilities for pediatric specialists
State-of-the-art clinical spaces, technology, teaching environments and outpatient clinics that help attract and retain top talent. - A true child-first design
Therapeutic play areas, calming environments and thoughtful design that puts kids — and their healing — at the centre.
How can you help?
Now that the Government of Alberta has secured land for the new Stollery in partnership with the University of Alberta, community support is essential to bring the vision to life.
Through Stollery No Bounds, your generosity helps:
- Build the new stand-alone Stollery
- Equip the existing hospital with critical technologies kids can’t wait for
- Advance pediatric research and innovation
- Strengthen family-centred programs and mental health care
- Train the next generation of pediatric specialists
Together, we can build the Stollery kids deserve — today and tomorrow.
